DJ BILLY E is one of Bass music’s original pioneers, and with the release of TUNER BEATS: CHOPPED & SCREWED he is proving that old school ideas can sound completely fresh when reworked with today’s musical production tools.
Back in the day, bass fans would make “drag” tapes by slowing down the cassettes that were in vogue at the time and creating a lower pitched slow motion style of bass that would really show off the low end of their audio systems. Using this concept DJ BILLY E has reworked his popular TUNER BEATS album and used digital techniques to slow down and lower the pitch of all the songs, resulting in absolutely massive amounts of pure BASS enjoyment!
